Productivity Habits

Top Productivity Habits for 2022

Can we measure Productivity?

Is it real that productivity leads to success?

What is success anyway?

Success is personal. It could be gained through huge accomplishments in career or personal matters or simply a new state of healing and peace. And this great success must definitely be celebrated!

2021 is over, let’s move on. Let’s embrace 2022 moving straight toward whatever success we have in mind.

To do this, we’re going to propose today that we must STOP, LOOK and LISTEN.

STOP = Silence & Try Observing Peacefully

You can literally stop what you are doing right now. Are you at home? In the office? Or sitting in the coffee shop? No worries, you can do this wherever you are. You just need yourself and some time to reflect on things.

How often do you observe your surroundings? Do you do it intentionally or your subconscious mind tells you so? Have you ever asked yourself if you are happy right now?

In this phase, we want you to think and observe everything around and inside you. Be specific and particular.

Let’s start from outer to inner aspects. Think of your friends and family, do you have as much time for them as you’d like?

How are your colleagues? What is your worklife like?

Now how about yourself? Have you ever observed how you look today or what your mood was last week? How are your routines? Are you sleeping enough?

There are so many questions but you can’t answer them all at once. And you don’t have to – we’re just observing right now.

Do not be anxious about anything, through this phase, we want you to reflect on things you have and don’t have. To assess the things you barely see and feel, without judgement, guilt, or shame. Can you weigh your time spending while in the office and at home with your family? Do you have quality time for yourself?

All these things matter and have an impact on your level of productivity. You need to free your mind and focus on your intentions, objectives and goals.

Sometimes we get so caught up in the day to day tasks, that we forget to STOP and look at where we really want to be.

LOOK = Loosen Our Overwhelming Knots

How do you spend your weekdays and weekends? Do you have a routinary day like waking up, eating breakfast, taking a bath, going to the office, working until the clock ticks at 5PM, going home, eating your dinner, and sleeping.

Stop looping yourselves into this daily routine without assessing whether or not they are truly helpful for you. You may need to cut some of the strings that are making you a puppet.

Spare some time looking at your calendar, physical or at your phone. Audit your time spent on work, get-togethers with your friends, one-on-one bonding with your pets, quality time with your family and moments you pamper yourself. We bet you only have time for work and doing some personal stuff but technically those stuff are not your goals in life.

Evaluate your life. In this step, we can be a little more critical with ourselves asking what exactly is your vision in life? Do you have career goals, like enhancing a new skill or expanding your connections? Are your daily and weekly happenings getting you closer to these goals? Which of them will help get you where you want to be and which will hinder?

Look at the pros and cons of different situations.

Your productivity will depend on how clear a mission or goal is to you. How you see and set it will impact how you will deliver them.

Know your priorities and try to aim for small achievements over time rather than one big time goal. Consistency is key.

LISTEN = Learn to Ignore Shallow Things and End Negativity

There’s this common saying, “No matter how hard you try, you can never please everyone.”

It’s true – you won’t. So try to accept your imperfections and flaws, as you work toward a better version of yourself – but don’t worry about what others think as you do so.

Learning how to refuse negativity from life will surely help us be more focused on our goals than pleasing people around us. Forget those hate comments and let the positive remarks linger in your heart and mind.

We cannot change how people see us but we can surely change how we see ourselves and take other people’s judgements.

So now that we’ve considered how to STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN, let’s consider some practical ideas for productivity in 2022.

Reward yourself

  • This can be through food, a weekend trip to your parent’s house or any small material you’ve been wishing for. Treat yo’self!

Small breaks in between work

  • Working too much without breaks can quickly burn you out. Try having a 5 to 10 minute small break every hour. It can help you to regain your concentration at work.

Do power stretching once in a while

  • Believe it or not, sitting facing your computer all day will exhaust your body. You need to keep your blood circulating for you to continue working peacefully, so get moving!

Drink more water

  • Working for too long can dehydrate your body because you are exerting energy on thinking and analyzing even if you aren’t moving much. You need water to keep you hydrated and when you are well hydrated, your productivity increases.

Create a weekly or weekend goal

It is not a bad thing to look forward to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; so adding some plans on your calendars on these days can help you achieve more goals on normal weekdays. Or maybe you can have your daily after work goals like going to the gym or yoga sessions. Everything must be worthy to look forward to.

After discussing everything all we can say is, at the end of the day, success is all about being productive today. What you are doing today will determine tomorrow, what you do tomorrow will determine your future and whether you achieve your goals or not. It highlights the things you achieved and how was the process of attaining those goals.

There is no right formula, nor perfect template on how to create great productivity habits. Your best habits may be completely different than someone else’s.

Stay focused on your mission in life and work and moving closer and closer toward your goals with each day and eventually you will get there.
