Tasty Christmas Recipes
The best way to get someone’s love is through their stomach, right?
Most people who celebrate Christmas have a favorite Christmas recipe. What’s yours?
If you don’t have one to share with TikTok, can you find and make a new one?
This can be a great way to bond in-person with some folks from your community as well as provide content for you TikTok.
Don’t worry about sharing a particular message in your cooking TikToks. Focus on sharing your personality, your people, and your favorite Christmas flavors with the world.
Christmas Songs Dance Party
Feeling an old Christmas song deep in your soul? Let them do the singing and lip sing along to use TikTok like an OG musicly user might.
Willing to share your voice or song with all of the people of the internet space? Many a TikTok singer has blown up by sharing their original songs or covers. Don’t be shy – give it your best shot and see how people respond.
If you love dancing, share some breath-taking dance moves. Or even awkward ones! You can also encourage interaction with your videos by asking others to tag you and duet your video. There are so many people creating their own dances on TikTok; we promise you won’t look as awkward as you might feel.
If you learn a really good one, you know you’ll need to perform it at your annual Christmas party or worship night, right???
Give a Christmas Gift to a Stranger
It has been a very hard and tough year for everyone. Some encountered mental and psychological instability, some had health issues, and some lost their jobs that led them to financial hardship.
If you have the capacity to share some blessings to others, consider sharing some gifts or cookies with people who do not expect it, recording the interaction and sharing (with permission!).By sharing these videos you can encourage viewers to pass it on, spreading the love of Christmas far and wise.
Placing smiles on others with our own little ways can mean so much to those in need. Sometimes small packages with good intentions are bigger than expensive gifts.
Need ideas?
- Give a lunch meal to an exhausted food delivery person
- Buy cold drinks for a group of construction workers
- Offer an elder a home cooked meal or sweet treat like chocolate
- Share a flower with… anyone. Ask them to pass it on.
It can be cheap! As long as your intention is pure and you are not expecting anything in return, then it is bound to be a beautiful display of love.
Annnd if you catch it on camera? Even better!
Open Up – Get Real
Sharing your stories in TikTok doesn’t mean bragging or showing off. Sharing your own words of wisdom or authentic experience is a great way to connect with others via this wild app.
It may bring peace and healing to some, especially to those who are struggling with the same story as yours. It is a reminder that they are not alone, even in this time that can feel incredibly lonely
It is important to let others know that there is someone who can understand them and the struggles they are facing. Even though we do not know them personally, the fact that they see and connect with your video may just be enough to remind them, life is precious and they are loved despite their past or current situation.
Encourage Reflection
You don’t only need to nourish your body, you also need to feed your soul. And yes, more than just Christmas cookies are needed for both.
Christmas is one of the best seasons to do some meditation and reflection. You know, because there is so much going on… but also because we’re focused on the peace, love, and light in this time of year.
Encouraging others in a moment of pause can mean a lot during this time.
Ask the viewers to follow your prompts and consider your Christmas-related questions. This can be done through asking the viewers to pause and contemplate for a moment. It can be done through your voice, text only, or some combination of the two.
- What do you want out of this Christmas?
- What does Christmas mean to you?
- What do you need to let go of before the New Year?
- Who needs a little extra love this Christmas?
- What do you need this Christmas?
Sit for a little while within these questions and/or share your own answers, encouraging others to think of the same.
TikTok is a good platform to spread awareness among a wide reach of people. Let’s not shy away from one of the greatest opportunities we have for connection yet.
Let’s make 2021 Christmas meaningful by spreading hope, healing, and light to our fellow digital neighbors.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday season, DigiFriends.
